Meet Kai Brenner from Radio Stadtfilter

Last week, we spoke with Kai Brenner, CTO at Radio Stadtfilter.

Hi Kai! Could you tell us a little bit about your background and how you became part of the MARCONI project?

As the CTO and Chief Radio Engineer of Radio Stadtfilter, I’m not only responsible for a smooth 24/7 operation of the radio, but also for the technical development of the station. My never-ending passion to experiment with technology helps me quite a lot in my job.

The challenge lies in bringing together technologies to create creative freedom in radio, every day. And believe it or not:  yes, it was a phone call from Mike. The project idea just convinced me to become a part of the MARCONI project.

It is important to stay connected with your audience and to be a part of the community in your living and broadcast area.

In your opinion, what is the greatest challenge that the project will tackle for your organisation?

Getting a better, more efficient and intuitive “work”-flow on the production side, as well as in the interaction with the audience.

What do you aim to get out from Radio Stadtfilter’s participation in MARCONI?

Well, as a radio station, it is important to stay connected with your audience and to be a part of the community in your living and broadcast area, especially if you are a community radio working with volunteers.

On the one hand, I think the aim is to get a smart and clever product, on the other hand, to guarantee a product that is not only affordable for the big players on the scene.
